Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting Budget 2022 informed in Parliament that 400 new generation Vande Bharat trains with better energy efficiency and passenger riding experience will be manufactured in the next three years.
Finance minister announces details on PM Gati Shakti masterplan
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today announced that PM Gati Shakti master plan for expressway will be formulated in the financial year 2022-2023 to facilitate faster movement of people and goods. Sitharaman said that the national highway network will be expanded by 25,000 kms in the coming fiscal, while Rs 20,000 crore will be mobilized for public resources.
“ PM Gati Shakti will pull forward the economy and will lead to more jobs and opportunities for the youth,” Sitharaman added.

Rail network under focus
FM Sitharaman said about 2,000 kms of rail network will be brought under the indigenous world-class technology Kawach for safety and capacity augmentation, the minister added.

She laid down the roadmap for India’s economy in the coming financial year. This is her fourth budget, and third amid the Corona virus pandemic, which battered the country’s economy.
