Noida : Padma Awards, one of the highest civilian awards in India, will be given to Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat and former UP CM Kalyan Singh posthumously. Along with this Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad have also been honored with Padma Bhushan.
These awards are given in various disciplines, literature and education, arts, science and engineering, trade and industry, civil services, public affairs, sports, and medicine. These awards are announced on Republic Day every year. The President confers the awards at a ceremonial function around March or April.

4 people will get Padma Vibhushan this year
This year, the President has approved conferment of 128 Padma Awards: 4 Padma Vibhushan,17 Padma Bhushan and 107 Padma Shri Awards. Of them, 34 are women, 13 awards are posthumous, and 10 awards are for persons from the category of Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI.
General Bipin Rawat, the country’s first CDS included in the list of (Padma Vibhushan), former Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh and educationist Radheshyam Khemka will be given this honor posthumously. Along with him, Prabha Atre, who is associated with the arts, will also get the Padma Vibhushan Award.
17 people will get Padma Bhushan Award
At the same time, the recipients of Padma Bhushan are politicians Ghulam Nabi Azad, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft’s CAO Satya Nadella, industrialists Cyrus Poonawalla, N Chandrasekaran, Bharat Biotech’s Krishna Ella and Suchitra Ella, sportsperson Devendra 17 names including Jhajharia and administrative officer Rajiv Mehrishi are included.
Padma Shri to Neeraj Chopra, Sonu Nigam
In the list of recipients of Padma Shri, the names of 107 people including Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, sportsperson Pramod Bhagat, SumitAntil, AvaniLakhera, academician Professor Najma Akhtar, singer Sonu Nigam are included. Keeping the tradition of the previous years, the government has included many heroes working for the society in the list of Padma awardees by remaining anonymous this time too.
