Noida. Maharishi School of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a workshop on “Fake News and Fact Verification: A Google Initiative” on March 15th, 2022. This event was held in auditorium of Maharishi University Of Information Technology, Noida Campus. Mr. Nimish Kapoor, Senior Scientist, Vigyaan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology was invited as trainer during the occasion. He told the students about the relevance of the workshop as the problem of fake news affects all of us.

He also explained the difference between news and fake content. He added that news is always valid and reliable and if it is fake it cannot be considered as news.

Mr Nimish briefed about various websites and applications which are helpful to distinguish between the two.

He added websites like Google News Initiative , First Draft, Data Leads, ALT News, Vishwas News etc are very helpful to identify between News and fake content. On this occasion all participants were awarded by certificates.

The workshop was attended by Senior Scientist Mr. Anand Sharma, Mr. Dinesh Pathak, Director PI, Faculty and students of Maharishi University, Media Professionals and students from other colleges.
