Noida : On Monday morning, the country reported 2.09 lakh new corona cases. The good news is that it is sharply down from Sunday’s 2.34 lakh infections. Active cases now number 18,31,268. Recovery rate has risen to 94.37 per cent. It is heartening to see there is a decline in new corona cases . The death figure due to infection is frightening. In India, 2,34,281 new corona cases were reported in a day due to which the number of infected has crossed 4.1 crore. During the last 24 hours, 893 infected people died, taking the death toll from the epidemic to 4,94,091.
Kerala hit bad by corona cases
In the last 24 hours 51,570 new corona cases were reported in Kerala. Fourteen people died due to infection. With this, the number of infected corona cases in Kerala has gone up to 59,83,515 while 53,666 people have died due to the epidemic so far. If looked at district wise in Kerala, corona cases in Thiruvananthapuram reported 6,647 new cases followed by Kozhikode with 4,490 new cases, Kottayam with 4,123 cases, Thrissur with 3,822 cases, Kollam with 3,747 cases, Malappuram with 2,996, Palakkad with 2,748 cases, Kannur with 2252, Alappuzha with 2,213 cases, Pathanamthitta with 2,176 cases, Idukki with 1,936 cases, Wayanad with 1,593 and Kasaragod with 966 new cases.

Weekend lockdown in Kerala
To prevent infection of corona cases from spreading, the Kerala government has converted the weekend curfew imposed on Sunday into a one-day lockdown. According to new instructions, shops selling essential goods will be opne allowed to open in the state from 7 am to 9 pm.
People working in essential service sectors can travel during this period. Coming to the hospital and for vaccination is also allowed. While emergency travel is allowed, documents proving the emergency nature should be produced when traveling. There will be no change in the previously scheduled examinations. The buses travelling long-distance will be on road to aid those in need of immediate transportation.
Big relief to people of Mumbai
A major decline has been registered in corona cases in Mumbai. In Mumbai, 1,160 cases of corona were reported in the last 24 hours, while 10 people died due to infection. At present, there are 10,797 active cases in the metropolis.
30 people die in Delhi
In Delhi too, the pace of corona cases seems to be stopping. In the national capital, 3,674 new corona cases have been reported in the last 24 hours while 30 people have died due to infection. The infection rate in Delhi is 6.37 per cent while active cases are 21,490.
Decrease in active corona cases by 1,19,396
According to Union Health Ministry, the number of active cases in the country has come down by 1,19,396. Now their number has come down to 18,84,937, which is 4.59 per cent of the total number of infected. The recovery rate from the infection is 93.89 percent. According to the ministry, the daily infection rate in the country is 14.50 percent, while the weekly infection rate is 16.40 per cent. According to the data, the total number of people who have recovered from the infection has gone up to 3,87,13,494, while the death rate is 1.20 per cent. The total number of people found infected so far in India has gone up to 4,10,92,522. Meanwhile, more than 165.70 crore doses of anti-corona vaccine have been given in India so far.
