PROF PAUL IN THE CLASS

Case Study is a technique in which real life situations or experience of a third party are presented in written form to an individual or a group for consideration, analysis and solution findings The analysis is done through SEE/JUDGE/ACT method. The relevant conceptual aspects are distinctly drawn in the discussion narrative while attempting any case study. Case Study is useful to bring more of real life into classroom/ training programme. As somebody else’s experience, a case study can help the student explore his attitudes/behavior/principles/values as if by personal analogy, at moments when direct attention to his own experiences would provoke only fear and defense, not learning. Case study is adjudged as the best technique to assess the problem solving and decision making ability of the target individual/ group. See/Judge Act is the sequence for any case study. We give below a typical situation in brief drawing the issues for See-Judge-Act analysis:

SEE

Prof Paul enters the class. Confusion reigns. Only a few students respond to his greetings. Ranjan ignore him completely. During the lesson they try to disturb the class by shooting the chalk pellets /talking/eating/doing anything except paying attention Some of them attempt to leave the class before he dismisses them……………….

JUDGE

a) What do you think are the reasons for the disrespect shown to their professor?

b) Considering these reasons, do you think that the students are justified in their behavior?

c) Should the professor take the accountability for the consequences he had to encountered in the  class?

ACT

a) How can we set out to correcting/solving this problem as well as other related issues?

b) How can the group itself help in solving the problem?

LOVE

Love is Energy. Love is unconditional. Love is non- conditional. Love is in giving and not in taking. When thoughts are immersed in Love, Truth will manifest in heart. When actions are suffused with Love, then all our acts will exhibit Righteousness. When our feelings are soaked in Love, we will be able to enjoy Peace. When we experience love, then nonviolence will envelope us in all our endeavors – thoughts –Feelings-Action

O! Teacher!  Dear Teacher!

O! Teacher! Dear Teacher

we come to you for guidance

In this troubled world

So  things seem insecure

Unstable

Changeable

in you we hope to find

Certainty

Security and

Definiteness

More than our parents

do not leave any doubt in our mind

About worthwhileness of education

And nobility of character

We want to understand them and

strive for their attainment

We put our trust in you!

Thou art our Friend, philosopher and guide

But we doubt, correct us if we are wrong

Do you keep your own ’ lamp’ lighted?

We are convinced

Only lighted lamp can light anther lamp

It’s a matter of ‘To be’ on ‘not to be’ Not a half way house

Only then Thou

Help us to explore

And to understand ourselves

Please show us

How to become a worthy citizen

To do our roles

Please do it

by doing

and not

by saying

We pray

you redeem our trust

We have given our hand to you

Hold it with Trulorinopea

Tru for Truth

Lo for love

Ri for Righteousness

No for Non violence and

Pea for Peace

Teacher!

Dear teacher

We want to come back to you

In later years and say

We were glad you were our teacher

We pray you redeem our trust

Teacher!

Dear teacher
