- Workshop on “Importance of Communication Skills for Mass Media” by senior journalist Nitin Saxena
Maharishi School of Media (MSM) organized a workshop on the “Importance of Communication Skills for Mass Media” on 14th October 2022 at it’s news room, Maharishi University of Information Technology, Noida. Ms. Ritu Prashar, HOD, MSM formally started the workshop by her welcome address followed by the interactive workshop session by Mr. Nitin Saxena- Ex-Editor, Rashtriya Sahara, Ex-Senior Journalist, Times of India, Ex-Dean, Princeton University, UK.

The speaker Nitin Saxena started the session with the introduction of communication and has touched all the aspects of Mass Communication like Radio, Television, News Paper and New Media. Mr. Saxena motivated the students to be curious to know what is happening around us as it is very important to become a successful journalist.

He said in this era of internet we all believe in the concept of “copy and paste” but this practice is not giving anything new to the society. The speaker focused on the fact that journalism is meant to bring changes in the society and merely covering the entertainment beat is not journalism. The workshop had active participation from students’ side as well. The students were continuously engaged in various activities throughout the workshop.

All the staff of Maharishi School of Media Dr. Shambhoo Sharan Gupta, Dr. Deepika Verma, Mr. Ajai Kashyap, Mr. Sunil Kumar Yadav, Mr. Shivam Yadav and Mr. Mohan Singh Rawat along with the students of School of Journalism and Mass Communication and School of Animation were present in the session.
